Sharda Fabrizio

Managing Director
Sharda is the Managing Director at UCG Solutions. She has over 15 years of business consulting experience, providing process, technology, and financial consulting services across utilities and healthcare industries. Her utility consulting engagements cover areas including process reengineering, SAP and PowerPlant implementation and support, General Rate Case preparation and workpaper documentation, Transmission & Distribution cost estimating, compatible units, and assisting Continuing Property Records (CPR) Catalog review. Prior to joining UCG, Sharda was employed by BearingPoint as a manager in their healthcare practice. She received a Master of Public Health, Health Service Management/Policy from the University of California at Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of California at Irvine.

James Campbell

Executive Director
James is an Executive Director at UCG Solutions with over 14 years of experience serving clients within the utility industry. His consulting engagements cover areas including project management, financial data analysis, financial modeling, budgeting/forecasting, testing, reporting, General Rate Case (GRC) preparation and development, developing business requirements, implementing process re-design, change management and work order management. Prior to joining UCG, James was employed by Nissan North America and Nissan Motor Acceptance performing multiple roles in the area of financial analysis both at the Corporate Office and Regional office. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with a minor in Political Science from the University of California Los Angeles.

Tom Blackburn

Executive Director
Tom is an Executive Director at UCG Solutions. He has over 20 years of experience providing business process, technology, and financial consulting services to various North American Electric Utilities. At UCG, Thomas helps drive business transformation, helps clients understand and respond to industry changes, assists in implement new technologies, and provides expertise in the field of budgeting, planning and forecasting. Thomas has assisted with end-to-end software implementations including SAP-ECC, SAP-BPC, and deploying SAP BI tools. In addition, Thomas has extensive experience performing complex data analysis, leading financial and managerial reporting design and implementation efforts, assisting in process re-engineering, change management, system testing, utility regulatory support, and Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 control design and testing.  Prior to joining UCG, Thomas was employed by BearingPoint in its Utility Consulting practice and by Arthur Andersen Business Consulting. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

Vivek Gadh

Director
Vivek is a director at UCG Solutions. He has over 25 years of experience serving utility clients throughout the country in areas of business to technology integration, system design and development, project management, information technology assessment, SAP implementations, Ariba, procure-to-pay processes, energy efficiency program review and implementation, A&G rates design, meter data aggregation and energy settlements. Vivek holds an M.B.A. from Bowling Green State University, Ohio, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology, India.

Andrew Strasner

Director
Andrew is a director at UCG Solutions. He has over 20 years of management consulting experience, with more than 15 years specializing in the utility industry. His areas of specialization include Program & Project Management, Regulatory Strategy & Compliance and Technology Strategy & Implementation. He has been a thought leader in the General Rate Case filings for all the largest utilities in California by coordinating the Results of Operations (RO) model for these companies. Prior to joining UCG, Andrew was employed by KPMG's Management Consulting group in the utilities practice. He was also previously employed by Arthur Andersen’s Consulting division and served clients in utilities, advanced technology, and manufacturing industry. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics and Accounting from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

David White

Director
Dave is a director at UCG Solutions. He has over 25 years of experience serving numerous clients within the utility industry. He has been involved in a wide range of management consulting engagements covering transmission and distribution operations, accounting and finance, regulatory filings and compliance, customer service, and information technology and shared services. Prior to becoming a management consultant, Dave began his career as an engineering consultant designing electric substations. Dave holds an M.B.A from the University of California at Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University.

Jeff Berson

Associate Director
Jeff is an associate director at UCG Solutions with over 16 years of experience in a wide variety of consulting engagements in the utilities industry. He has managed consulting projects covering areas such process re-engineering, General Rate Case (GRC) preparation and development, FERC Formula Rate implementation and automation, customer service product and service evaluations, and various data analysis and financial modeling. Prior to joining UCG, Jeff was employed by Computer Science Corporation as a Senior Analyst/Hyperion Administrator. He was also previously employed by BearingPoint and Arthur Andersen Business Consulting, serving clients primarily in the utility industry. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in Business and Administration from University of California, Los Angeles.

Richard Lau

Associate Director
Richard is an associate director at UCG Solutions with over 15 years of experience serving clients in the utility industry, specializing in the areas of business process improvements, financial and regulatory accounting, and compliance. He has managed projects such as the reorganization of a large utility’s operating unit, SAP stabilization, resource planning, and the development of various complex financial models. Prior to joining UCG, Richard was a manager at Arthur Andersen, KPMG Consulting, and then BearingPoint, working primarily in their respective utility practices.

Rich Bennett

Senior Manager
Rich is a senior manager at UCG Solutions with over 40 years of experience in the utility industry, specializing in the areas of fixed asset and regulatory accounting & compliance. He has managed projects associated with ERP implementations, regulatory filings, software implementations and upgrades, managed accounting organizations, and the development of various complex financial models. Prior to joining UCG, Rich was a senior solution architect with PowerPlan, Inc. and a principal manager with Southern California Edison managing various accounting and operational finance groups. Rich holds an M.B.A from the University of La Verne and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with an emphasis in Management Science and Production from the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. In addition, Rich has the distinction of being a Certified Depreciation Professional issued by the Society of Depreciation Professionals.

Aleks Lazarov

Manager
Aleks is a manager at UCG Solutions with over 9 years of management consulting and financial accounting experience. Aleks has worked with clients in the utility industry on projects involving business process improvement, change management, budgeting and forecasting, data analytics, General Rate Case (“GRC”), and regulatory compliance. Prior to joining UCG, Aleks worked at CBIZ-MHM LLC, conducting financial statement audits of companies in a wide range of industries. Aleks holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accountancy and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from California State University, Northridge, and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Alice DeMartino

Manager
Alice is a manager at UCG Solutions with over 16 years of business consulting experience, providing process, technology, and financial consulting services. She has led utility consulting projects including assessing cost estimating processes, Sarbanes Oxley compliance and financial reporting, and developing an allocation methodology to split CPUC and FERC recorded assets. Prior to joining UCG, Alice was a manager in BearingPoint’s utility practice, and was also previously employed by Arthur Andersen Business Consulting in their utility consulting practice. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Los Angeles in Mass Media and Communications with a specialization in Business Administration.
